Français : Une du magazine Puck en date du 21 septembre 1889. L'illustration de Tom Merry dépeint Jack l'Éventreur comme un barbu, couteau sanglant à la main, qui observe divers portraits reflétant l'incertitude relative à son identité. La légende du dessin souligne le mystère : « Qui est-il ? Qu'est-il ? Où est-il ? ». Il s'agit d'une allusion au district de Whitechapel qui est encore le théâtre de meurtres non élucidés en 1889.
