DescriptionMelbourne Terminal Station.JPG
English: This is the Keilor Terminal station (transmission substation) in the western suburbs of Melbourne, Australia. As seen in the photo are 3 of the 5 220/66 kV transformers that supply all of the northern and western suburbs of Melbourne. Shown is the 220/66 kV section of the station which supplies 210,000 to 215,000 homes and businesses including Melbourne Airport. The 500 kV section adjacent (converts to 220 kV for the 220/66 kV transformers via 3 1000 MVA 500/220 kV transformers) to this is a switching station and doesn't direct supply any homes, but loops with other 220 kV and 500 kV terminal stations nearly supplying all of western Victoria.
Here is a Google Map showing the supply area of KTS [1]
