English: Calender machine. Input: one bale of synthetic rubber. Output: at the end of the process, after several cycles, the material thickness decreases from 20 cm to 2 cm (approximately). The resulting sheet will be used in a composition (sealant batch production using a Z-blade kneader).
Français : Calandreuse de balles de caoutchouc synthétique, qui seront transformées en crêpes. Calandrage d'une seule balle à la fois. En fin d'opération, après plusieurs passages (échauffement important des cylindres en acier, qui sont refroidis par eau), l'épaisseur du matériau passe approximativement de 20 cm à 2 cm, l'opérateur diminuant progressivement l'écartement des cylindres. Les crêpes obtenues sont, après découpe au couteau selon la masse désirée, directement utilisables en formulation ; par exemple, utilisation (à 2 % en masse d'une formulation) dans un malaxeur pales en Z, pour produire des mastics élastomères. |

Une des deux vis de réglage de l'écartement des deux rouleaux, au moyen d'une tige en acier (faisant levier) enfoncée dans un des trous de vis.
En début d'opération, on choisit un écartement élevé. On le diminue par la suite, en fonction de l'épaisseur désirée.
